anyone using tek lights?

6 bulbs. i want ati bulbs as i think they're the best and definitely want at least one purple plus. How did you go about hanging yours? i may buy the hanging kit or just use chains

My brother uses a tek light, 4x54 watt. Its a great fixture imo with great reflectors. He runs all geisemann bulbs, two actinic plus, one pink plus, one 15k blue plus

I have the Tek Elite 6 bulb. I use two blue+ on the outside for the morning, and the middle four go front; blue+, Giesemann 6700k midday, ATI Purple+, ATI Blue+ Back.

so one cord controls the first and the last bulb? i dont have the fixture yet (its on order) and im planning on ordering bulbs soon

I would say start with 3 Blue+, a purple+ and coral+ bulb. As for the last bulb, if you want a more blue look, add another blue+. If you want more color pop, but less par, add an actinic. Or if you like a more white tank, add another coral+ or aquablue special (although this bulb tends to have a yellow/green cast to it). I personally use the above combo with an actinic bulb thrown in, I really like the color.

hows this for a 14-17k spectrum with a lot of variety in spectrum ray. (front to back)

That's how mine works. One cord controls the outside two and one controls the inside 4. works pretty well for morning/day/evening applications in my experience

I love my fixture, my bulb combo is in my sig.

Front to back all ATI bulbs. All bulbs are on for 6 hrs, for dawn and dusk i run 2 Blue+ for 2 hrs before the other bulbs come on and 2 hrs after the other 4 bulbs are off for a total of a 10 hr photo period. My sps and lps grow like crazy, I have to put some lps in shaded spots due to the light being to bright for them.

im going to go with the bulb combo i last posted probably. I hope that my 6 bulb isn't too bright for a 17" high tank. Its going to be 95% sps though so i should be alright

opinions? i really want that magenta in the purple plus to be there to bring out pinks. but will this look to purpley and dark?

The coral plus really helps to bring out the pinks. I run eight bulbs and one is a uvl red bulb and one is a geisemann coral plus(pink) and the two make the pinks, reds, and oranges really stand out. I think I may eventually switch one of them to fiji purple when its time to replace bulbs but otherwise I really like them.
