Thinking about upgrading to a couple of mp40w's. I have an 180 gallon acrylic tank... not sure of the manufacturer. It is made of 1/2" acrylic. Is anyone using vortechs on their acrylic tanks in pulse mode? I read that i should check into my tank being able to handle the stress of the waves.... Just looking for some input from some users i guess. Thanks for any info in advance.. Cheers

a quick shot of the tank... should this help.

If the tank is acrylic, I don't think you will have problems.

If it was a glasscages 100g rimless, I would be more concerned.

I use 2 on pulse mode on my 60G, its only 16" tall, made of 3/4" cell cast, and it has a slight bow, where I ended up putting a brace in.

thanks... i have implemented the vortech to my system!!!! I am sooo sold !!!!!! Best pump ever!!

I agree. The vortech just has so many advantages. I have several, on several systems (not acrylic though).

As for Glass Cages. I have ordered from them before. They do terrible work. I would never order from them anything but a frag tank. But don't get me started on that, lol
