Anyone wanna order Mantis shrimps for dinner?

I couldn't resist and took this picture at a restaurant in Hong Kong. :-) They're about 8" long. Pretty much every restaurant I went had this dish.

Seems like a very popular dish in Hong Kong. I wanted to try it out, but my relatives said it wasn't that good. :-)

BTW, marine fish and corals are so cheap over there! Any kind of clown fish can be had for ~$2.50CDN, regular size Fox Face for around $4CDN, super extra large Blue Face Angle for ~50CDN (over $350CDN in Toronto) and large Blue Tang for ~$16CDN (don't even see them here, but I guess it'll set me back $100).

holy crap, those are the type of mantis ive been looking for and they have a whole tank of them lined up for food! asian cuisine is messed up.

anyone know if there is a place that will import those? it seems they have an abundance.

We tried them in Xiamen this summer
I didn't know anything about mantis then
Tasted Ok were a pain to peel
Same deal they were Everywere in buckets like that
They must have thought you were crazy taking a pic
