Anyone with a cement-reinforced tank?

Is it possible to use cement as reinforcement for the rear and side panels? I can get a good deal on an acrylic sheet that is around 4' x 8' x 2". I'm thinking about cementing the back panel, the sides, and then sandwiching the acrylic panel before finally sealing the seams with silicone.

Has anyone done this kind of setup? I'm mostly worried about the chemical content of the cement leeching into the saltwater.

Any other concerns?
Opinions? Experiences?
