Anyway possible

Oh, so your asking about something you have already done. I made the mistake of putting ocelleris in a fowlr with triggers, etc. Never witnessed any aggression but clown fish ended up dead and I'm sure the other fish were to blame even though I never actually saw a problem. Actually I was to blame...

no, i dont have any clown triggers yet. looks like i will wait until i get my set up done with my 150 Gallon tank before i get any triggers. fwill just be keeping the clown fish in there own 60 gallon tank and then add triggers to bigger tank.

The niger trigger behaves well and tends to be mild mannered. Even in a 150 an agressive trigger will be a threat to most smaller fish. I had them in a 180. You are very limited when you add the larger agressive fish. I traded all my triggers in and went to a tank I can keep smaller fish, clean up crew, anemone, etc.

well dang, i really like those clown trigger fish. what fish would you recommend to keep in there with him? would other triggers be ok? or mainly fish that are his size or larger?

Triggers, puffers, tangs, certain wrasses, but you're talking about heavy eaters and they need to be fed to help tame aggression. I really like them too but you are limited to fish only. To me, once I got my fowlr stocked it was not that enjoyable to watch. It was just fish swimming and fish eating, that's it. You can still get some beautiful fish but also leave the ability to keep coral, inverts, and other cool things. Not to talk you out of it but I've been there myself. The Niger is a beautiful fish under good lighting. It's actually a mixture of blue, tan, green, purple. There is also a blue throat and crosshatch are safer choices and are housed in some reef tanks. There are a lot of tangs that are amazing looking. I just think you paint yourself in a corner with certain fish and it wasn't for me. The clown trigger is one of my favorites. I had a clown trigger, humu trigger, Niger trigger, dogface puffer, blonde naso tang, blue hippo tang, fox face rabbitfish, live rock, and Cyanobacteria, lol.

thanks Swayze, i appreciate your input

Clown triggers pretty much need a species tank when they get big. Almost nothing is safe with them when they mature.

As others have said, no triggers in a 60. Clown triggers get over 1 1/2 feet long, and they are really aggressive.

Dwarf angels, basslets, Halichoerus spp wrasses, gobies, blennies, etc would be fishes to look into. Lots of options.
