I'm planning on modding my aquapod with a hydor flo for the output. I currently have a maxijet 1200, I've heard that those put out a lot more heat than the 900. I was wanting to get some people's experience with this first before I buy a 900 or install the 1200. Thanks in advance.

Install the 1200. I have used the 600, 900, and 1200. The 1200 does give the best flow and is not too strong for the tank.

What about heat issues? Has it brought your temperatures up??

FWIW... the 900 with the hydro-flow does NOT give enough flow for my tank.

Will the 1200 fit in the "stock location" for the return pump? I've also thought about drilling the manifold on the 900 to see if that helps.

900 and 1200 have same bodies

I installed MJ900 with hydor and 1" loc line spray head near the surface. There's plenty of flow in my ap12. Also, there's a lot less heat with the 900 (two of them have more flow and less heat than a single 1200). FWIW.
