apastasia good for something?

Yes it does, but if you have a high enough zap dosage to keep aiptasia from going through. You are not going to get much of anything surviving the trip.

not to leave you hanging...

actually... you're right, Kim.
I'm still trying to find out how large a UV it would take to kill an Aiptasia- if it's even possible. (Theoretically it is.) The UV unit would have to be extremely large (talkin' big bucks here- think public aquarium size.)

That's why public aquariums usually tackle an Aiptasia/Majano/invasive polyp problem with natural predators.

Hmmm. It was just an idea, from your research it seems that it would that it would be expensive and that it would be better to use natural predators. Yeah a bunch of peppermints or a CBB would work.

I have a side question:

which would do a better job aptasia or Majano?

as in better job as a particulate matter filter?
I'll leave it up for others to debate that!

IME/IMO several types of anemone species can work as a filter but Aiptasia might be easier to manage than many since more predators for Aiptasia are readily available.

Yup as a particulate matter filter and that is a great point: there are much better/ easier Aptasia predators then for other options such as the mojano anemones.
