Apature for mac

I recently purchased a Macbook pro, converting from PC. I used to use Photoshop and light room to edit my reef tank photos.

Does anyone here have experiance with both photoshop and apature? Are they similar? does apature let you adjust the white balance as much as photoshop does?

Aperture is more like Lightroom than Photoshop. It's also a dead product. Apple has announce they've stopped development on new versions. I wouldn't recommend investing in it.

Photoshop and Lightroom both use the same software behind the scenes for white balance and RAW conversion; the controls just look a little different.

I still prefer photoshop over Aperture. I'm running an older version of PS on Mac, the CS5, but haven't found that it is limiting in any way.

Doug what is the latest and greatest photo editor out there for Mac?

I use Photoshop and Lightroom. Same as I would if I used a PC.
