Aperture 3 and pixelmator

Does anyone on here use those programs? Would I be better off getting something else? It's for a Mac just in case somebody didnt know :debi: my Mac now is shot so I might pick a new one up tomorrow and figured I should pick up some software while I'm there so I can get creative with my pics. Thanks for any info

I demo'd Aperture 3 for a little while, and while it was a nice program... a more sophisticated iPhoto, I would really check out Adobe LightRoom3 instead. Not only standalone do I find it better than Aperture, but the fact that if you later on decide to get Photoshop, it can seamlessly jump to Photoshop and back made it the choice for me.
