Apex breakout box as ATO

Anyone using your breakout box to ATO there system? Do you trust it? I have a breakout box but with the holidays around the corner I am tempted to buy a tunze 3155 for cheap. Any one use trust or have issues with either of these?

I use the Apex Breakout box to control my ATO. It's been solid so far. i would put a defer statement in the program as well as a minimum run time.

This is my programming. Sw1 is the float switch that sits right at sump water line and is the main control of the ATO. Sw2 is the 2nd float switch in the sump setup as an emergency switch in case the sump gets too much water. Sw3 is the float switch in the ATO reservoir so if the reservoir gets low, it will not turn the pump on. I also added Sw2 and Sw3 to my alerts.

Fallback OFF
Set OFF
If Sw1 CLOSED Then ON
Defer 005:00 Then ON
If Sw2 OPEN Then OFF
Min Time 005:00 Then OFF
If Sw3 CLOSED Then OFF
If Outlet Maint. = ON Then OFF

Thank you very much, great info. I really appreciate it, I'll be programming this in once I get home.

So all a "breakout" box really does is just that; it breaks out (apart) the pins from the connector into terminals you can connect your floats to. There's no real electronics contained in it; nothing to "trust" per se.

Provided you use some floats of decent quality, clean them at regular intervals, and have some good logic programmed into the Apex outlets, it's just as good (can be much better) than any commercially available ATO system.

So in your opinion what would you do, buy a tunze or take good care of the break out box floats?
