I bought an Apex Jr in late December to replace my dying RKL. Hooked it up with a wifi to ethernet adapter (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007CO5DZ4?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00). I find it great to control everything in the tank. The feed settings make it easy to shut off the pump and the pop back on at a prescribed time.
Late last week my cellphone buzzed and it was the Apex letting me know the tank was too cold. I left work and ran home to find the heater had failed. Luckily I had a SPARE heater (sorry on my other thread people read "Space heater") handy and could replace it easily. Without the Apex my tank would probably have been at room temp ( 69 degrees) by the time i got home at night. This way it was an hour out of my work day and I don't think the critters even knew the difference.
They are pretty easy to setup and worth every penny. IMHO
