Apex Controllable Fan Speed off VDM

I am thinking of bailing out of my LEDs and going back to metal halides.

I have gotten pretty comfortable playing with my Apex VDM ports and I would like to use the variable DC 0-10v signal to control the cooling fan speeds of the new MH hood.

So what I am looking for is advice on how to build a circuit that would allow the 0 - 10v output of an Apex VDM to vary the output voltage of a 12v DC transformer.

I am not even sure where to start, but I am sure it would be a gadget that could be useful for lots of folks.

If you dont want to "waste" a good VDM slot, you can add a heat controlled on/off controller inline for about $3. Is variable speed an absolute requirement?

That is an amazing find! Thank you. Now I will be able to crank up my fans based on profiles in response to water temp. I will load my hood up with nice big fans, and hope that I can get by without a chiller.

I was looking for the same thing awhile back to control the fans on my large led setup which is why I knew exactly what you were looking for haha.

Is this working? Do you need to use special PWM fans as opposed to standard computer fans?
