Apex controller/ temp probe limits (Sous Vide)

I was thinking about Sous Vide the other day and I thought...hey, i bet i could use my apex to control a heater and small pump to do exactly what those other expensive machines do. My question is, will a standard temp probe handle 130-150 deg and will the apex controller register accurate readings this high?

Seems like a fun project...i was even thinking i could plumb my chiller to it to keep it cold during the day then time it so my steak dinner would be ready when i get home!

thoughts?

Was I the only one that had to look up Sous Vide on Wikipedia??? :)

You sir, have some crazy ideas... cooking a steak with your apex, chaeto reactors.... I think it's only a matter of time before we see the Oxyclean guy selling one of your inventions. lol

Have you asked neptune what that probe can handle?

i'm sure you can find a metal temp probe or one that is meant for higher temps! That is a genius idea....

is there a power head that can withstand up to 200+ degrees?
