Apex died

Came home tonight to find my pumps, lights and powerheads all off, water still and quiet, fish hiding.

Display on the Apex with no signs of power, in fact all status led's everything dead as if no power is connected. The circuit breaker on the power bar had not been tripped, so no reset with that.

Any words of wisdom on how to troubleshoot?

in the mean time I plugged the pumps and lights into the powerstrip I have mounted under the tank in efforts to keep everything alive.

Did you trip the breaker on the EB8?? Or the internal backup fuse??

If it has one it would be inside the EB8 . Smell the EB8 and see if it smells burnt. I have heard of them burning out. If I were you I would contact Curt and Neptune tomorrow and he is pretty quick at responding back!!

Update; came downstairs this morning to leave for work and found the Apex system back up and running like nothing happened -- What the heck?

Check your outlets in that room and surrounding rooms (wiggle them and see if they feel loose). I had an outlet in the room get a loose wire in it and the outlet I had most of my tank plugged into would go dead every once in a while and then magically come back on later. Turned out that the loose wire in the plug would arc and heat up and the wire would pull away from making contact until it cooled off. Dangerous situation and glad I found it. Just a thought.

Thanks for the input! This outlet is or was new a year and a half ago when I installed it. Its a GFI outlet. Upon troubleshooting this issue, the green LED on the outlet was illuminated and the other side of the outlet also worked. I'll keep an eye on it.

As an update, came home tonight to find the unit dead again, this time no load on it, meaning nothing is plugged into the power bar. Now I have very little confidence in it
