Apex for me?

Thought this may be a decent place to get an answer.

My needs:

MH and t5 lighting control
1 variable speed Tunze, 2 fixed speed Tunzes
3 part Aquatronica pump

LM3 topoff

I think the base unit with pH probe and temperature should be fine.

I actually have a nice Aquatronica controller but need something that can send texts with abnormal values and is easier to configure from the PC since I travel a fair amount.

any thoughts?

Go for it. The Apex will do everthing for you. If you want to variable speed from the start you will need the full Apex not the lite. Although the lite has the same expandability.

Pretty sure you already know the answer...if you can spare the $, do it!

I would, the Apex/Aquacontrollers have saved me countless times and in my book "paid" for themselves many times over.
