Apex issue

I need your help here. Lately, the last two days, I've been notice that I can't log on to my Apex. so i figure it would be a DNS issue, but i checked nothing had changed. then i check my temperature, it had been warmer the last two days, but my temp was sitting at 73 instead of the 75 that i set it to. I check my code and it show that i have it right. so i decided to reset the power. Once the power had been cycled, it started working again. The heater came back on, i can access it. Then it happens again this morning, did the procedure again, only this time it stopped working again in like 2 mins. I can't login to my apex after that. I validate that the internet was working, then i plug my computer directly to it. I still can't access it.

I tried to run the self test, it show up as passed, but nothing seem to run. do you have to run something to start the test?

what do i need to do?

firmware ver is 4.03 - 6A10 build #2, is there a newer version? i can't even access the apex, how do i get it to upgrade?

4.03 is not the latest but it's a good release. What lights are on? I assume you have a flashing yellow on your EB8 and probably a yellow on the controller?

It sounds like what's happening is your controller is failing for some reason and your EB8 is going into fallback mode. If you have fallback off for your heater outlet, that would explain that behavior.

I would call Neptune support right away and let them diagnose it. It could be that they'll want to reflash your firmware but that would be more because they think it's corrupted rather than you needing a more current release.

the weird thing is that all the lights are green. it is just not accessible. I called Curt and he told me to flash it with the newest firmware and see. The only that was changed the last couple of days was that I put my heaters on the 6 & 7 channel.

i reflashed the firmware and it seems to get back online just fine, however, the temp had me concerned, i have 2 heaters that rated for 100 gal each (my tank is a 50 gal with 40 sump). I set the temp to kick on at 75 and off at 76, and the heater itself to be off at 77. the temp displayed had never reach 75, both of the heaters were off at one point, but the temp never gone above 75. I pull the temp probe out of water and the temp remain the same. when i drop it back to the water the temp went down by couple of decimal points. the temp never went backup after that. it took over an hr just to get back to the point before i remove it from the water.

any idea?

I have it on a simple setup right now

Fallback OFF
If Temp < 75.0 Then ON
If Temp > 76.0 Then OFF

no other probes are running at this time. I want to make sure that no interference from other probes.

on another note, i set it to on at 74 and off at 75, the temp never hit 74 degree. when i have it at 75 on and 76 off, it will never hit 74.
