Apex or ReefKeeper for 40G IM Fusion

Hello,

I can't quite decide which of these controllers would be best for an IM Fusion 40. I will have a Radion XR15, probably two part dosing (would like dosing pumps, not sure the brand, recommendations?), I would like ATO (Tunze I think?), and plan to have LPS and some easier SPS.

Ideally I would like to be able to control the entire system from an app on my phone. I know Apex does this but it doesn't seem that DA does. Also, I very much like the idea of having a Vortech pump with an external backup (for power outages), and it seems as though the Vortech pumps work best with Apex system. Also, if I get the Apex I wouldn't need to get the ReefLink wireless controller in order to have app access to the pumps and light- is that correct?

Also planning on Ghost protein Skimmer and Mini-Max media reactor running GFO. Any insight for me?

TIA!

The Archon by DA dosen't need an app. It is completely web based and can be accessed by phone, tablet or computer. All you need is a web browser. The Archon has built in wifi so no need to hardwire. I also use vortech pumps, but do use Reeflink. I don't think the new return pumps will work on the Apex module.

I've owned both and I hate to jump on the apex bandwagon but if I were you I'd go apex for sure. Much more support and available modules etc. Also really easy to setup especially on our pc mac or phone.

So you have had a Archon? It is just as easy to setup on a phone or iPad as a computer.

I can't imagine running a reef tank without an Apex. Saves so much time and worry. It's super easy to use out of the box and the options are endless. I don't know much about any other options, but I would fully recommend the Apex.

I've ran an RKE prior. It was cool.

Now I ran an Apex jr. ran it originally on my Fusion 40. My lights, both XR15 and then the ATI 6x24 Dimmable had its own controller so I didn't plug that into the EB4. Worked amazing though. My tank really started coming out nice with the stable temp and what not. Eventually I upgraded and added EB8. Now my tank is fully automated with the touch of a button. I'd never go back.

For reference. Here it was before I broke it down and upgraded!

From the research I've done I'm either going with an Apex Jr or Apex Classic for my reefer 170/250 build I'm doing soon.
