api reef master kit?

Mine starts pink, then turns kinda purple, then within 1 or 2 drops after turning purple it turns blue. I count to the point where it first turns blue.

It's supposed to turn pink/purple first, then blue. That's when you stop counting.

Personally though, I always had a hard time telling, so I switched test kits for Calcium. I now use Elos and the endpoint is much easier to read.

I have no problem tbh when i do the test and it starts to change it is usally one or 2 drops till final color. This is close enough for me as long as it shows in the range i am looking for 380-450 then i am happy.I normally keep my calcium about 420.There are prob more accurate tests but for the price api works for me.

The way I understood the API instructions is that you will eventually reach a point when the addition of a drop will begin to change the color from pink to a light purplish. But you must keep adding a drop(s) until it turns fully blue (the end point).

For me, it's usually one additional drop past the initial change-over to light purplish, to make it blue. (So I don't waste that last drop, I just mentally add it :) )

the first drop that changes it from pink usually changes it to purple. 99% the next drop is the end point. after that your just wasting solution.
