API Test Kit Sensitivity.......

Are the API test kits (the ones that use the test tubes) more sensitive than other kits? I have had a reading of 20 on my nitrates for the last 2-3 weeks but when I have my water tested at 2 different LFS's they tell me they read 0. One LFS uses a salifert test the other uses a digital reader and they both tell me my "water looks great 0 nitrates".

The test kit is only 1 month old when i bought it the package said it was still good for a year or so I think. Could it just be a bad reading from a bad kit?

Kinda sounding that way. Have any friends around with the same API test? Or maybe ask the LFS if they have the API kits to test from?

I don't think they make the best kits, i imagine it's more likely that it has less fidelity that some of the others.
