Appropriate pump

Have a 55 gallon marine tank with a 10 gallon sump. Want to replace my Mag pump. What size pump would be recommended for sustaining ideal reef condition.

Two factors. Needs to be quiet. And minimize heat dissipation

Is this for a return pump or a flow pump in the tank? The nano osmolator is marginal as the total volume is likely over 55 gallons, try with the 3 minutes setting.

Thanks. This is for a return pump. From the sump to my 55 gallon. Standard length for return pipe. Not sure on what the ideal flow capacity should be and thus the recommended pump size

The 1073.040 would do about 450 gallons at 4ft, the 1073.020 about 250, either could work, it just depends how much return flow you want, less is usually quieter and better for filtration and avoiding bubbles being returned. In total you need a lot more flow than either can provide but that would be accomplished with powerheads, I would use 2 6045's if you don't want controllable pumps or 2 6055 if you want controllable.
