Thanks to Marc for a great presentation....
If was very informative. It was awesome that he shared so much of the process he uses to build sumps from start to finish.
Thanks Again Marc.
On another note...I think that everyone who donates thier time as board members deserve a Thank you too... I know first hand how time consuming it can be and there is very little appreciation and a lot of criticism that goes with the job.
I think the issue that was raised was done in the proper manner in a open club meeting. But the issue was not who was paying for the officers dinner but it was about "DISCLOSURE". All club members have the right to know how (thier) club money is being spent.
If you read the post Mike did about elections you will see that the treasurer is to have a financial report for the general membership at least three times a year. (I have yet to see one) Every member should be able to see the fiancial report at anytime throughout the year.
Since the club monies come from the donations from sponsors (LFS) and raffles ( members buying tickets ) and memebers dues, there should be some responsibility to the sponsors and members...
Broad members are also know as Trustees, they should have the best interest of the club in mind. They should be a good stewards of club resources. They should also do what is best no matter how they feel about an issue, it's not about one's feelings, but what is truly the right thing to do for the membership.
In closing, what would our sponsors think if the club was not truly being good stewards of the money, that in part comes from thier generous donations. Would they continue to donate??
Remember to Thank the people who make the club work. They need to know they are appreciated.
Sincerely,
Rj
