They often show up on clam shells. I would recommend getting rid of it through either a kalk injection or peppermint shrimp. Otherwise you run the risk of having them spread through your tank.
 
IMO, taking the clam out of the tank and scrubbing the aiptasia off the shell with a brush is just fine. I know alot of the WS clams are cooming in ith aiptasia's on them. When I am acclimating my new clams I look fo any aips and scrub them off on the spot if need be.

I'm a huge advocate of peppermint shrimp. You've already recieved the the sound advice you need, but from the looks of your "profile" a couple peppermints wouldn't hurt. And believe me they clean house. I had live rock completely convered with the weeds and literally over night, poof! They work cheap too, and I've watched them spawn at night on more than one occassion. Nothing like clouds of hundreds transparent fetal shrimp to get the heart pumping. Not to mention you'll be weed free from now on. :rollface:
