I am having a really bad time removing the forest of Aptaisia from my tank. If I take the rocks with them on them out and scrub really hard and thouroghly will it work to remove them or just help them spread even more?
Your help is appreciated.

if you have corals in your tank. i would watch what people tell you throw in there as far as creatures. I and others on reef central have had problems with peppermint shrimps eating our corals sometimes. Living creatures like to eat and once the main food source is gone...they turn to other things to get them by...if it happens its just your favorite $40 candy cane coral...they dont give a crap ...cause if its on the menu...its going to be eaten. Also as far as the pep shrimps..they dont eat big aiptasia ...they go after the litlle ones. You will have more and more pop up if you scrub the rocks. They generate more colonies everytime they get a piece of them torn off .. they also can release Planules into the water column if they feel threatened which is why you dont want to use Joe's Juice either ....cause it makes them explode and release pieces of the main anemone into the water column. What i use is called Aiptasia X by Red Sea. It fools the anemone into thinking its food you are trying to give it. So it expands slightly..ingests the goo and once this stuff is into saltwater...it turns into a glue like substance...which seals the anemones mouth shut. preventing release of the planules that create more. and since the mouth is no longer able to pass water ...the water pressure causes it to implode onto itself rather than explode.
I have to back up LR69 here. Aiptasia X is by far the best and easiest solution I have found. Just be aware that it will be a long process to remove them all. Treat all that you can see and then wait for the small ones to grow so you can see them and do it again. It will make a big difference fairly quickly.
Peppermint shrimp never bothered my corals, they did eat a lot of bristleworms tho. I've also kalked with a thick paste. Used a turkey injector and then it kind of hardened over the rocks. Haven't had any for years.
I've been reading about these berghia nudibranchs, but I don't know a good place to buy them. Also I've read that wrasses might eat the berghia nudibranchs, I have a big Mystery wrasses so would be berghia nudibranchs a good idea.
