Lower nutrients, too. I have always been able to control them through better water quality. Berghia verruccornis nudis do the job, too. They die after they finish eating all the aips, but many are raised in test tubes now anyway... Takes months for them to eradicate them, but a good option if you can't get a better skimmer and are covered up in them.

The bigger one's I gave an injection with plain household vinegar, and the smaller ones have been taken care of by my three L. wurdemanni - all gone forever.

I used boiling water to kill them also some vinegar but I heard that can cause your PH to change if you use to much.I resently bought some Joes Juice and that stuff works good.I also have a few peppermints that help kill the small babys ones when they sprout.

Will they pick on the apaistia first?

They will go after the smallest aiptasia first, but the bigger ones they won't touch (that's why I used vinegar). It took my three peppermints about 4 weeks to clean 50 lbs of LR in a 30 gal tank.

I really recommend trying with the peppermint, as they will get all those small aiptasia at hard to reach places - if you later see they cause trouble with your corals, you always have the chance to place them in another tank, trade them in for other lifestock or give them to another guy with aiptasia problem

Ok sounds good I will be picking up a few the chance I get thanks everyone.

Just make sure you do a VERY slow aclimatization - shrimps are quite sensitive to changes in salinity.

Yeah, I have kept several cleaners and camelbacks in my 65 for years. I was just conserned about adding them into my 6 since i have a ton of zoos and LPS.

Which are better at taking care of aiptasia, the older/larger peppermint shrimp or the younger/smaller ones?

Mine were pretty small, about 1" and they grew up quite quick

You're all forgetting that Peppermint shrimp are too short-lived to sustain aiptasia control, plus they're notorious food-thieves, as they constantly steal food right out of polyp mouths. Forget about Copperbands, and if you don't know why I say that, I won't even bother explaining. Just go with Joe's juice, then siphon out the dead tissue (MAKE SURE THERE IS NO FLOW FROM PUMPS!!!) using one of those baby-snot removers (It's like a baster, you can get them from rite aid or something)
