Aptasia disappeared?

Super Abound
i have a few in my tank, nothing too big. been working on getting rid of them a little at a time.

the was one that was growing out of the base of a new acan frag i have. i had been hitting it with joe's juice but was worried about hurting the acan which was only mm's away. in three attempts the anemone always recovered.

today its gone. just not there anymore. ive been checking all day to see if it pops back out but usually even when it was retracted i could see the tips of its tentacles. not today. the hole is wide open...

so, can these guys release and float around the aquarium? i dont think he starved as everything is growing in my tank including the anemone, at least it appeared so.

i have nothing that would eat it in my tank, at least nothing ive put in there...

any ideas? :worried2:

Yeah, sucks to be the bearer of bad news but they move. They walk around freely as they like. Chances are it just moved to a spot it was more comfortable, where you can't see it.

I found this out the hard way. I'd go after it and any you see aggresively if I were you. It doesn't take long for one to become 100 in an enviorment where it's well fed and happy.

ahahaha

those little bastards!!

yes, i keep my eye on them. i've been using joes juice but i think i may try some lemon/lime juice. i usually attack a couple with every weekly water change...

i would think that joes juice or lemon/lime juice will do the same to any coral tissue as it would to aptasia? they seem to like to be near my corals (>.<)

EDIT: luckily my tank is only 34g so there's not too many hiding places...
