Given that the ap is on the clamws shell, why not just FW dip it? it will get the appy, and do nothing to a clam. no chemicals, little stress. U can simply drip some FW on it, wate a minute, wipe out with paper towel and place the happy clam back in its proper place in the tank.
I tried the hot water method, but it wasn't succesful so i went on to Joe's Juice and it worked great, but it just couldn't kill them all so i use pepermint shrimp and they work alot better.
as to not having any others in the tank... look real good, under some easily moved rock, you just might see some smaller ones. So far I have used aptasia x on 5 and none have come back...
FW dipping the clam for an aptasia problem is not a good idea. FW dips are very stressful for tridacnids. I am happy that you all know how to kill aptasia but you also are going to kill this clam along with it. Like I said, remove it from the tank and place it in a container filled with tank water. Then you can brush it off without risking contamination.
Come on I don't think you can kill a clam with aptasia-x unless you are trying to. I mean if are only using 1 ml and not squirting it directly in the clam you are not going to kill it.
