I am not new but just wondering what everyone recommends for removal of aptasia. I have a very light outbreak and have been using Aptasia X just wondering if there is something better. Fish Joe Juice Majano Wand.
Thank you in advance for reading and your response.

I had a fairly bad outbreak.

My final "this seems to work" treatment ended up being a combination of peppermint shrimp and aptasia-x. The aptasia-x knocked down the big ones and weakened them, then the peppermint shrimp came in and ate the small ones and finished of the bigger ones.

It took a couple of tries with the peppermint shrimp to get some that would eat them. I was buying the shrimp 3 at a time. 9 shrimp later and the aptasia started to go away.

The aptasia-x also took a few weekly treatments on the larger ones.

oh lets see...
lemon juice, kalk paste, joes juice, aiptasia x, scalding hot water injection, burning torch, burning laser, peppermint shrimp (Lysmata wurdemanni specifically) , matted filefish, berghia nudibranch, copperband butterfly and probably a few others..

How long has your tank been set up for? If you don't have a whole lot of corals yet you might want to add a couple Peppermint shrimp and see how they do. You've basically got a 50/50 shot with them, but you won't have to fiddle with syringes, kalk paste etc. Just be advised though that sometimes these things will eat various corals, so once the job is done you might want to remove them from the tank. You can always add more if need be.

Has anyone ever tried white distilled vinegar with a syringe? I just noticed 2 small areas of Aptasia and was told this will work...........thoughts?

Yes it works but you must inject the vinegar into the aiptasia under its "flesh" vs just spraying it on it..

Also has an added benefit of performing a shot of carbon dosing too to feed/increase your beneficial bacterial population ;)

My Matted Filefish does the trick for me. I got him to clear out Majano and he took good care of that.
