What other than a copperband will eat aptasia's . I've just started noticing 2 underneath my xenias. Any little gobies/blennys/wrases/or shimp that do it?

hey chris, peppermint shrimp. kind of hit or miss from what i understand. id go get some joe's juice from dave before they take over. <~~steve

My last peppermint shrimp ate apatasia like crazy...I guess he died because there is a stalk of it that popped up out of nowhere for the first time in 8 months. I got a new peppermint shrimp and he hasn't touched it.

I use peppermints with great success. I know some people say they have had no luck with them at all, but they always work for me.

I went through 3 peppermints before I finally got one that ate aiptasia. I havnt seen any since. They work very well if they eat the stuff.

How often do you guys see your peppermints ? I have put about 4 or 5 in my 58 gallon over the last 6 months and I have never seen them again and my two or three aptasia are now 8 or 10 ! I think my striped cardinal may have munched the shrimp. Has anyone tried www.berghia.net ? I am tempted to buy some berghia and try them out. Kind of pricey for mirco nudis though.

I put about 4-6 in my tank back in october. I had about a dozen or so aiptasia then. I did try getting some of the berghia (sp?) which are the aiptasia eating nudi's. well they ate one and I never saw one of the berghia again after that. I still see my peppermints on a regular basis. I know I have at least 3 and I have only 1 aiptasia in my tank now...it is a big one so i don't think they are gonna get that one.

You might save some time in getting them in Memphis...they usually have them at that one LFS in Memphis....I can't remember the name! Not Something Fishy, Not Kermits, its the other one (insert name here). Of course, check the other ones too. They were under $10 a piece if I remember right and well worth it.

Bob's Tropicals..I dont know where it is because I haven't been there...but Robin, Richard, and Charley got my peppermint shrimp there and brought it back to Jackson for me.

If i lived in memphis i have two i would give you, they haven't done nothing to my aiptasia, and very rarely see them.

Joe's Juice worked like magic for my aptasia. It literally disappears right before your eyes! Of course, it does't take much to amaze me ~:)-))

chris, you can get them at youre work. if not try the highland store, its an almost guaruntee theyll have them as ive seen tons there in the live rock tank. with youre discount im sure theyd be less than 5 bucks each.<~~~steve

From my experience...most people have.

I send ppl there all the time for freshwater stuff, since he carries discus, brine shrimps kits, and some medicine we don't carry. But I try not to buy anything from him salt wise or anything really.

Try the joes juice i think you will love it.. I also have that if you cant find any...

I have not had much success with Joe's juice. At first it seems to work, but they always seem to come back in the same spot.

I think it just makes them mad:(

I added a copperband last week. If he decides to eat them he will be fat and happy:D

I know peppermint shrimp will work, but my pseudochromis likes them a little too much if you know what I mean.
