Hey Steve,
Yeah, I'm out of room or else I would initialize more devices.
Those 5 are the ones that, due to the limits of the code size on the AQ2, I feel are the most important.
ALM is the main alarm, that should always be off unless there is a problem.
CRX is the calcium reactor that should always be on. I have this on the AQ because I turn the reactor off before I do a water change. It's easier to just turn it off through X10 via aquanotes (I have a laptop in the sump room) than it is to reach under all the equipment and turn off the reactor by unplugging it.
OZN is the ozone generator, that should be off unless it is a certain time of day.
PHY is the light for growing my phytoplankton cultures
FNB was the name for the fan over the sump in the basement. But now I use so I can know if the power goes off. Anytime an alarm trips I run a script that looks at all AQ devices and tells me a few things about why the alarm tripped, such as if the water level is too high in the sump or if the power has gone out. I have the AQ change the status of the FNB to ON if the power has failed.
MHF is the Metal Halide lamp on my frag tank.
VHF is the VHO actinics on my frag tank.
SWA is the switch alarm. I have it hooked into the dry contact IO on the AQ. If the water level in the sump get too high or too low it will trip this device. I also have it hooked up to a small colored light so a visual indicator goes off that there was a water level problem as well. This is used so that if I causally glance in the sump room I will know if the water level if wrong. I can also see the indicator light from a webcam if I am on the road.
earraval As soon as I have an answer I will post it.
