Aqua C EV-180

Hey guys, just wondering for those who have ev-180s, if you know if there is any way to plug that hole in the collection cup area. I don't want the waste to go into an outside container (recently overfilled from some power failure). Anyone try a pvc or plastic plug? Where did you find it if you did?

u don't want ot plug it up otherwise air can't escape and you won't get any skimmate. Just get a waste container and 5/8 tubing and drain it into the waste container.

Silly putty might work, but I wouldn't plug it b/c they designed it that way for a reason. I would just tube it to a small container like a gatorade bottle or buy the waste container.

just get a milk jug and use it for a waste container. Anything will work as long as it catches the junk and doesn't topple over.

wait...why won't it get any skimmate? there's a opening for air near the water entrance. Isn't the skimmer the same on the top end like all the other skimmers? I thought it's just to lessen the frequency of emptying the container

With out a picture it is hard to show, but the air going out that hole allows the bubbles to rise up the neck and put the gunk in your cup. Without somewhere for the air to escape, the bubbles would never rise.

the opening for air may be the JG fitting for a ca reactor or Ozone. It sucks air in not pushing it out. The drain has air pushing out of it allowing the bubbles to rise to the collection cup.
