aqua clear 110

i have an aqua clear 110 on my tank and i see a difference with the with the mechanical and chemical ( foam & carbon ) but do i need the biological will it act like bio balls and cause alot of nitrates none are showing up but i one have one fish

with the live rock you should be fine.

(btw, bio-balls don't "cause" nitrates...they just don't host the bacteria that would finish the cycle of converting nitrates to nitrogen. live rock will provide the necessary bacteria (whether the nitrates were generated within bio-balls or the rock or a power filter is irrelevant)
