Wow! Perfect timing!! Let me be honest, I had NEVER heard of Profilux until I started heavily researching AI LED in the last few weeks. Suddenly, I hear more about Profilux than any other controller.

My original plans were to purchase a RK Lite because I onced owned a RK2 with a previous tank set up. So I was going to return to a level of comfort - Digital Aquatics. I don't expect you to flame DA - nor am I asking you... but rather inform me about a product I know nothing about.

As I looked thru your website - I began to get tired head & brain overload trying to figure out the difference between II & III & Beginner Pack & Novice Pack & Expert Pack... you see where I'm going?

Which model provides pH & temp monitoring & would allow me to control some simple equipment on a reef such as pumps, heaters, ATO (ATO.com), and I suppose most importantly - AI LED? I'm not a Calcium reactor, ORP guy, and typically manually dose at first until my tank has matured.

Well you are in the right place

If all you want is these features than I suggest going for the basic $499 pack which is the Plus II controller. Now I say basic very loosely as the Plus II is far from basic! And gives you massive bang for your buck

here is the product feature guide, have a look at of what plus II can do before even talking about expansion an upgradeability.

So as you can see from the list for $499 you are getting a lot of features, not all you may require "now" but most people soon realise the power of the controller and soon see the benefits of some of the great add ons

There is also the $299 option but these are out of stock for 5 weeks and do not come with a power bar

I dose my tank with 2 part. I am considering adding the GHL dosing unit to dose vinegar. due to some of my room limitations I am considering to see if I could top off the tank and/or perhaps do water changes with the unit as well. Maybe 1-2 gallons of WC per day.

If you are talking about the stand alone unit with built in dosing controller then you can not water cahnges as there is no input for a level sensor.

To change 2 gallons a day you are pushing 7,740 ml of water through the doser, they really are not designed for this amount of volume, no doser is to be honest.

If you have or thinking of getting a profiLux aquatic controlelr then you have way more options open to you for water changes.

i am changing 3 gallons a day....

using spectrapure litermeter pumps just pump with ac power brick...no timer etc...

i plug the 2 litermeters into my ghl power strip...

so all in all i have 3 pumps

1 for draining... 1 for salt water replacement and 1 for ro top off on evaportation...

profilux controls it all perfectly

Does this mean that the cable I have on order from reefgeek is no longer needed? I just received my p3 package, but there is no GHL/Ai lead.

Michael, can I please be included on the free AI cable list as part of the Pro Plus II I just purchased/received from you? I ordered an AI LED module from ReefGeek a couple of weeks ago, but due to the lights being on backorder, not sure exactly when I will get my module and mounting rack. I also ordered the cable through ReefGeek, but was charged for the cable. I sent Greg an email asking for clarification of cable charge.

I had 4 and now I dont all gone, I know Ai are making some this week.

The cables are chargebale if that helps clarify why RG charged you for it.

Okay, ah, well timing is everything................. Should I just cancel the cable from the AI package that I purchased from ReefGeek, the light, mount and cable are all on back order status anyway. And then get the cable free from you guys when they do become available? I can't remember what the cable cost, wasn't much. Less than what the seperate shipping for it would be from you. Though, I did order some peri tubes from progressive reef that are also on backorder - can they include the cable with that order so there wouldn't be shipping charge just for a cable?

Not a good idea I will not have anymore for 6 weeks, we also officially do not supply them I was just fortunate enough to get hold of some. Reef Geek is the official supplier of the cable and should be ordered with the lamp

We have no affiliation with Reef Geek or Ai at present other than mutal respect and promotion, so if you have purchased something through them we could not then go and offer it to you for free after, that would be very unethical.

The free offer was put in place just to help some people along with their purchase choice after we had anounced some, it was not put in place for people to cancel orders elsewhere, sorry

As i said RG are making the cables this week as far as I am aware.

If i get anymore they will be chargeable and will not be offered to people that have already ordered one through Ai
