Aqua lift pump lasts 1 year?

Its a cheap useful pump, but a friend of mine told me they only last a year, is it true?

Mine ran for 2 years before I sold it. I assume it's still working for the person who bought it

They have a similar design to a diaphragm air pump but are designed to pump water not air. Like an air pump, the diaphragm can wear out. You can just pick-up replacements for less than $5

Mines been running my ATO for 7 months now without a problem.

I have a pump thats been topping off with kalk for 4 years.

i had one take a crap in a few months and others that are running for a couple years.

just think, they are 15 bucks, a dosing pump is 100 at best, if they last 1 year at the least, u can buy them for 7 years, before hitting the cost of a dosing pump. which may only last for 5 years.
my aqualifter is nice, silent, and awsome. if it craps out, its 15 bucks and diaphragms are cheap.

Mine stopped working and I took it apart and noticed that the clear plastic flaps moved and weren't working properly because of this, I just placed the flaps back in the proper location and it worked better than it did new. BTW it's going on 4 years now and still working great.

the one I use on my overflow box craps out every month...guess I just have bad luck...really cant wait to get a new tank

You need a better overflow that doesn't need a vacuum pump. The Aqualifter in that app is pulling out dirty SW and air from an overflow and will foul easily compared to one used as a topoff pump.

jmoney r u using the Tom Aquatics Aqua Lifter Suction Pre-Filter ?

yep I added the prefilter, and clean it every other day pretty much
