Aqua Max HOB Skimmer

I thought I would share some pics of my new Aqua Max HOB Skimmer. I worked with Jason at Premium Aquatics and got it delivered and hooked it up in under 30 minutes and with very little work the skimmer is pulling out some serious junk.

Kind of big-but not a big deal
Can't open hood all the way- I knew this before I bought it.

If you want a great skimmer that is built very solid and is very quiet but don't mind having to remove it every time you want to get into your tank then this is for you.

Man, I was thinking of getting one of these... But is it worth it for a 12 gallon when I already change water every week?

What's your opinion? I do have a heavy bio-load though, haha.

Just some clarification, a protein skimmer pulls out junk that reduces phosphates? I thought a GFO reactor did that. Please educate me!

If you got it at Premium Aquatics then I think it would be branded JNS not Aquamaxx although it is the same skimmer. Anyway I have one on my Solana and it's quiet and skims really well. Also the Aquamaxx support was great. They replaced the whole skimmer when I had a problem with the collection cup not fitting.

Thanks for clarifying that it is make by JNS. Next even if I cut the intake tube like the post says the return tube is the one that is hitting the back of my hood and I still will not be able to open the hood to work in the tanks.
