Hey guys,

I just tried to use Aqua Mend to connect a few peices of rock to eachother. I cut open the tube of Aqua Mend and mushed it as instructed and then stuck it immediately between two peices of rock (underwater). The directions said it would bond within 30 minutes. However, the rocks came apart hours later. Some are still standing, but most are not.

Has anyone used this product? If so, do you have any tips on how to make it a success?

sometimes if the rocks are to heavy it won't work, I might try using the med and superglue together. maybe even zip ties, then cut the ties out the next day after it fully cures.

The peices I am connecting are only a quarter or so in size. I am just not too sure why it wouldnt cure. Did anyone let it cure underwater?

What I do if I'm trying to glue down a large frag or something.. I mix the epoxy.. Then I let it sit out ontop of my lights or where ever for about 10 minutes so that it starts to set up just a little bit.. Then I stick it to what I need. This method has worked pretty well for me. If I don't do this, once it hits the water it seems like it get to pliable or something. Good luck

for frags i will mix it, stick to the bottom of the frag trying to push it into nooks and crannys in the frag rock then attach it to the main rock in the tank by pushing it with a twisting motion to again get it into the nooks and crannies. if the frag rock is smooth rough it up with a coarse file or sand paper.
