AquaC 2-Part Dosing Clarifications Needed

Hey All,

Just got some AquaC 2 part supplement for my 30 gallon tank and needed a few clarifications...

1. can I add both parts at the same time?
2. it says "add 3ml per 10 gallons", is that 3ml of EACH?
3. it says add both equally, but my calcium is a little low (around 350) and my alk is spot on, can I add a little more of the calcium component until they balance out?
4. it says dont mix with other supplements, I added some calcium supplement and a different alk supplement a few days ago while I was waiting for this to come in the mail, should I be ok?

You should raise the calcium only until you get the level you are trying to achieve. Once you have your desired level then you will add equal amounts of the two components.

Magnesium also plays a part in this balancing act. I like to keep mine around 1350.

The calcium part can be added as fast as you like. I add the alk supplement at a slow (drip) rate. The alk additive can burn your corals if added too fast. If you have a sump add the alk additive in the sump. Because I have a sump I add both alk and calcium at the same time. I dump my calcium in the display and drip the alkalinity additive slowly into the sump. If you only have a display I would not add the additives at the same time.

EDIT: I dilute my alk additive with RO water. This allows a slower rate as it is dripped into the sump. My tank uses a little over one ounce a day and I dilute that with about 30 ounces of RO. Not needed but I think it helps.

Hrm, I have a skimmer with a overflow box, I usually dump it in there so it has time to get mixed in with the skimmer. That should probably suffice. Thanks for the advice.

That should help. I don't think I would add the calcium additive to the skimmer as it might accelerate calcium build up on the skimmer pump.
