AquaC Nano Remora Problems

I haven't been able to get this thing to work well since I bought it. It seems to produce plenty of of foam. However the foam seems to jam at the top of the collection cup. What I mean is that a very thick foam develops at the top and sticks to the lid. This seems to keep anything from getting into the collection cup.

Anyone have any recommendations on this?

I'm not sure if it will work, but I have heard of others talk about mounting a piece of round acrylic to the lid (slightly larger then the one in the collection cup) and have it hang a little lower then the top of the one in the collection cup (kinda like the design EuroReefs and others use). I think this would direct the foam into the cup better. If I ever find a piece of round acrylic that will work I want to try it.

I think what you are observing is common. The foam should rise and eventually spill over junk to the collection cut. If it collects between the lid and the top of the uptube/riser, then give it time. If the foam is thick and dries between the uptube and lid causing buildup, then try to collect more wet foam by lowering the collection cup. If the collection cup is already at it's lowest point, then you may want to tweak the nylon screw to adjust the water spray pattern for more foam.

Hope this helps

I think you may be correct in that the foam is drying, causing the buildup. I have the cup at it's lowest setting right now. How far in should the nylon screw be? I have it all the way in at the moment.
