i was going through the Marine Depot catalog and i found this:
nanoskimmer.jpg

sounds interesting... no price or release date listed, but it looks pretty sweet!

I saw a pretty detailed description of the nano-c remora on another forum. It seems to be exactly like the regular remora, only shorter. I haven't heard anything about the price, but I'm thinking it's going to be around $125 - $150.

Has anyone used or seen the tunze nano skimmer? If so, what are your thoughts on it?

Thanks,

Jake

yes the mini ASM are available, i have not used one but they say that the pump is a little to small. look in to nano-reef section and see if you can find the post on them. HTH

I got to see the new tunze today at the lfs, it looks well built and would definately sit easily in the corner of a 5-10gal sump, it has a very small footprint. The collection cup is decent sized though and would stick up just as high as a remora hob. I have yet to see it working though, it looks very simple and small.

I've heard mixed results. Some say they're a waste of money while others feel they are decent. One of the biggest complaints I've heard is with the amount of microbubbles they throw back into the tank. Check the classified and nanocube section over on nano-reef.com. You can probably get a used unit for next to nothing.

The remora has the advantage of being a hang on skimmer.
If I had a sump I would go with the ASM.

Thank you all for the comments!

I don't have a sump, but I have been considering one. As in many things... we shall see! :)

Thanks again!

I installed my Tunze 9002 nano skimmer a couple weeks ago. Seems to be doing a good job. Click on my photo gallery to see a picture. Oh yea...it is running on my 46 bow.
