When you set up the Ph probe are you supposed to have temperature compenstaion on or off. I set mine on. if i need to set it to off do i have to recalibrate? also what is the difference by having it on or off?
Most just leave temperature compensation off, as the temperature variation in a typically reef is very small and has a negligible effect on the pH. If you don't recalibrate the pH reading will probably be off by about .01.
A pH probes raw reading is affected by temperature. Turning on temp. comp. compensates for the pH probes reading cause by high or low temperatures.
Hi Curt
I tried calibrating a lab grade probe on my ac jr. using the supplied buffers. Infact I also used them to also calibrate my Milwaukee 101 with new probe. After 3 attempts the Neptune reads 7.88 and the other reads 8.18. I treied with comp on and comp off. I also tried using other NIST buffers that I have but all have the same result . Low PH .
a
Any ideas?? Is there a compensation such as the temp offset??
