Aquahut Experience, please comment...

Just wanted to know if anyone has ever brought fish to Aquahut. I live kind of far and I know that they are not too good with the phones so I thought I would pick your brains.

I have a yellow head moray eel which I cannot take care of anymore.

I kind of knew I should not have bought the awesome beast at the time, but common sense went out the window.

I bought the fish from them so just wanted to know if they accept livestock. Do not want to make the trip if I don't have to.

Thanks...

im sure they would take him, but i think he would be better off given to someone local. if you give him to a store, someone with less experience and a smaller tank will most likely buy him and put him in a tank that could be possibly smaller than yours.

I bought 2 damsels that were terrorizing my tank there last week and he let me trade them for 2 other fish without any questions. He's got the tanks to hold it, so I don't see why he wouldn't. He may even give you store credit. Very nice and helpful everytime I am there. You are not the first to complain about the lack of phoneage.

Don is a great guy. Their official store policy is that they dont take trades, but he has helped me out in the past. I had to give up a Hippo Tang, Yellow Tang and a Striped Burrfish that had all outgrown my tank. He gave me store credit for them since he knew that I would just be spending more money there anyway.

It is a 45 minute drive and they are the fish store I will do business pretty much.

I like Pets Warehouse in Copiague but the service at AquaHut cannot be matched.

They never seem inconvenienced or impatient with your conversation like some places

<cough> country <cough> critters....

When I spend my hard earned money I don't usually like to think someone else is doing me a favor by getting a fish out for me.

Sorry for the last two cents but customer treatment like that is helping internet sales out a lot....

Just want to make it clear that is not how I feel about Pets Warehouse. They are good people too, just haven't purchased any livestock from them lately...

Don will take anything back from what I have seen.

If your eel requires a covered tank, this may be an issue....

I do agree with teen if there is someone local wanting and able to take care of the eel first.
