Aqualifter pump

Hi guys! I had a question concerning the Tom Aquatics Aqualifter pump. First what I would like to kow are its dimesions, I have attempted to find these elsewhere but cannot. Second I am thinking of using this to pump water from a 5gal water storage container (jug) to my sump for the purpose of a top off system. Would this work? I can not use the prefilter because this is a jug style container. You can connect one line and submerge in the jug and then connect the second to a return of sorts over the side of the sump correct? Thanks for the help!

You can definitely use that for the auto top off you described. You shouldn't need the prefiter since there shouldn't be debris in the top off water. The dimensions are approx 5"l x 3.5"w x 2"t

How long do the prefilters last before having to clean them?

Regular airline tubing fits on the aqualifter.

The life of the prefilter really depends on how dirty the water it's filtering is. You should clean the filter any time it becomes clogged. I'd reccomend at least once a week.
