Aqualight Advanced Series HQI Metal Halide Fixture

I am setting up a SPS pico/nano system and I was debating whether to use the JBJ K2 viper or the Aqualight clamp on metal halide. I was wondering if anyone here owns the aqualight and what they think about it. Which lighting system should I use? Thank you.

I read the the viper doesn't provide enough light to cover the area of your average 24 g nano cube or aquapod. It only illuminates the middle leaving the sides shaded.

Haven't you taken the time to read the threads about the problems with the Viper?

i have the 150w clamp on
i took the clamp off and hung it over my tank it works awesome i love it
i recently too it apart to retrofit it in my canopy and is bright! i just recieved the phoenix 14k to put into it
i also have 2x24w t5's for actinics

for ur tank i would get the 150w clamp on with a 20k! for sure

I've read about all the problems with the viper but the set up I am making demands that I use a clamp on halide so it's really just a choice between two evils and I just want to see which one is better. Some people who have vipers say that they don't have any problems with them. So maybe it's just an issue of not getting a lemon. Thank you for your concern and if you might have any more information on either of the two lighting systems please let me know.
