Aquamaxx Ecomaxx EM300 Overkill?

I'm thinking of going with an EM200 on my 100 gallon mixed reef with a 40 breeder fuge. The skimmer is rated for 240 gallon aquariums. Is going with the EM300 which is rated at 340 gallons overkill? It's not much more expensive, it would certainly fit in my sump and I like the idea of being able to stock my tank a bit more. Is there such a thing as over skimming? Please advise.

I used this skimmer on a system at work that was approximately 130 gallons. Performed wonderfully. I would say definitely give it a go!

I think I'll go with em300. I checked the cone 2 at MD and it is out of stock for 2-4 months. The price is actually $340 which is not much less than the em300. I also like that the pump is encased in the skimmer itself. Seems easier to remove the whole unit for maintenance. Thanks for the input.

I dunno if your looking at the skimmer I said, but it's showing up at 292 on my screen and in stock for shipping ASAP..

That is a good price...i was thinking of the EM300 as well for my mixed 150g. I currently have a Cadlights 1350 and not sure if it would be a worthwhile upgrade.
