Aquamaxx WS-1 Skimmer

So I bought this and haven't been able to use it because the RMS arm for my ecotech is in the way. So I either need to change to the RMS track mounts or figure a way to hang it. Wont be able run the InTank media basket either, so what is good to use to quiet the waterfall from Chambers 1, into 2?

Do you have an ATO? My ATO keeps the level about an inch or less between chambers 1 and 2, so I've never had to silence anything. I also don't run any filter pads or media other than the skimmer.

All good, I'll make it work, how deep is the water in your 2nd chamber? Directions recommend 8 to 10 inches, I have mine at 12 and it's still a waterfall... only fitment is the darn Rms mount. Also have tunze '55 ato

The water is about an inch from the partition separating Chambers one and two. I went to take a picture but the sponge filter I'm storing there's to pick up bacteria for QT/TTM is messing up the water levels.

The skimmer should be in a small stand. I never used a stand and didn't have a problem, but I think it would have been better with a stand.

I wonder if you could use a piece if eggcrate or even plexi/acrylic as a sluce (?) For the water to slide down between Chambers, something to break up the solid drop.

Thanks for the info, I guess with only a inch difference between chamber 1 and 2, not as far of a drop. Your ecotec is hung, if I remember correctly?
