Aquamedic pumps output on kalk for sps tank.

aquamedic owners.
I just purchased a My Reef Creations kalk reactor. I am/was planning to run it on a aquamedic pump. Well I thought it would be adjustable. It is not as you know. I plan to run it on a 400 gal setup. Even though it is a fairly large tank I still think the aquamedic will be too much to equal top off. I do not think the pump likes to have the intake hose crimped.

The Question:

Does it work well with a lamp timer or neptune unit. Or how do you regulate the water flow qty.

let a floatswitch control it... for failsafing, have the floatswitch controlled by a pH controller as well. I like the reversed milwaukee 122
