AquaMedic T1000?

Just bought a used T1000 and was wondering if there was a way to run without powerhead feed or is that the only way? I have the Rio 2700 producing foam, but it's doesn't have any adjustability, nor does the MJ400 on the feed side? Thanks, mattyb327

You can run a direct feed from your drain to it and get rid of the small powerhead. Use a T fitting with a valve to control how much water is fed to the skimmer, and dump the extra into the sump.

I gotcha good idea sinceI have both the return and the drain running into sump I can use the smaller one. That's genious!!

New they come with black knobs on the output part that you use to adjust the water level inside the skimmer.

Giving a little too much credit. That's the way it is designed to run and in the manual for that skimmer.

Overall they are an okay skimmer particularly if you got it for under $100. However if buying new, in recent years with falling skimmer prices for NW there are other skimmers for same or little money that are are a better value.

Just make sure to put a valve on the line going to the skimmer to control the flow. You probably don't want more than about 150 gph going through the skimmer.

FWIW, the Ocean Runner 2700 kill the Rio in bubble production (will probably need a valve on the air line to prevent overflow) if the Rio ever dies and you need a replacement.

Didn't get a manual with it , but it is in very good condition, That's probably why I have questions. Website gives basics but nothing about alternative inputs. Thanks Again guys!!
