Are there any additional parts or pumps required to use this Skimmer as an external, housed in my stand.

It will be used on a JBJ28 HQI.

Thanks for your inquiry, first and foremost please make sure that the skimmer will fit under the cabinet. According to your description (Aquamedic Turboflotor T1000, Blue) this unit hangs on the back of the aquarium or sump if used in this manner you will not need any additional parts.
