AquaMend

I bought some aquamend from HD and I just wanted to make sure that it is safe for my reef before I go using it. I don't know if there's different kinds, but this is like a teal color.

brian, i cant say yes or no from experience but im looking into using this myself. also, ive heard of many people getting "stuff" from hd to epoxy stuff with and aquamend sounds EXTREMELY familiar. let me know what you find out. thanks!<~~~steve

That's what I use (when I use it). I got some once that mentioned having some sort of ferrous in it. You don't want that, but I'm pretty sure Aquamend is Aquamend (bluish green label).

Aquamend is what I use. (superglue-aquamend-superglue)

the aquamend i got at HD says fiberglass on it. Is this the same kind? I havent used it yet.

so this is the right stuff? I'm planning Sun. to start glueing some things to my main rock. I'm tired of it sitting in the sandbed cause the clownfish or hermits always knockin' them off...

I used that same stuff to glue my base rocks together. IF you do it underwater, make sure to hold it in place for at least 5-10min. I'll have to get that stuffs again since we might be moving by the end of this month, moving tanks, FUN!

I held it together to the rock i was glueing it to for 1 minute or less under water and it held tight enough that i couldnt break the 2 rocks apart with my bare hands after it set. i even did a test and used a screw drive and hammer and it was hard as rock to break the rocks apart just from putting the aquamend between 2 rocks and not even aplying preasure but let it set for 10 minutes but you got to give it time to completely set after aplied. after 10 minutes sthe stuffs as hard as rock hence the reason its made to repair boats under water.

so you dont have to hold it in place for 5- 10 minutes you just have to give it that much time to set.
