AquaNotes & ACIII

Okay got my ACIII up and online last night, up on the network and I can access it via the web interface.

I downloaded AquaNotes Lite and then read through the directions on how to connect it to the ACIII unit. Followed that, entered the serial # of the ACIII, the IP of the ACIII along with the admin username and password (same I was using to login via the http server on the unit) and it still says it cannot connect.

Am I missing something?

Don't put the http:// in the IP address; I've heard of couple of people doing this. Just put '192.168.1.50' or whatever the IP address of the AquaController is into the address field.
If this doesn't help, can you ping the controller and telnet into the controller?

There is no http:// in the address field/ip field in AquaNotes, just the ip only. I can ping the unit and hit it via http and telnet just fine.

Not sure if this helps but where it says Site: with the drop down box it only has "Direct to PC" or "Connceted to PC" (something among those lines).

The site should be 'Direct to PC'. When you do a 'status->reef tank' a window should pop up and login into the AquaController. Do you see an error message in this window? Try exiting AquaNotes and restarting.

alot of people forget to check the "TCP" interface box under the configuration tab.

Rather nice not having to have a serial cable hooked up, especially with my laptop.

Now, if I can just get the damn thing to cook my breakfast for me!

Maybe I missed something skimming through the manual..

As all of us guys do......

I had to exit aquanotes and open it up again to get it to work...

Maybe this is something that should be added to the manual in bold letters..

:)

my 3 cents

Probably not a bad idea benraines... I just spent 15 minutes trying to figure out why it wasn't working until I read this post, then restarted Aquanotes and it came right up!
