Aquanotes Needed for AC III programming?

Hi,
I like to setup an AC III, and was hoping to program it. I'm myself a software engineer, and three buttons is going to be pretty laborous! I know you can login to the system, and that it can act as a webserver, can we also program the AC that way? Or is the only way to do that through aquanotes?

And I'm guessing aquanotes doesn't come packaged with the AC III?

You can program via the web interface.

Aquanotes is an extra, it is not needed to program the unit, but it sure makes things easier.
